Alumni > Alumni Association

Mission
In the Chinquapin spirit of Quid pro Quo, the Alumni Association exists to give back to the school by becoming involved with the current student body, keeping up with alumni news, obtaining donations for the annual Alumni Association Scholarship, and aiding the school in its fund-raising efforts.

Meetings
Alumni Association monthly meetings are the third Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at Los Molcajetes restaurant (1310 N. Wayside Dr.) at 1-10 and Wayside. All alumni are welcome.
*New: Read the minutes from the last meeting.
Mentor Program
Several Chinquapin alumni currently serve as mentors to Chinquapin students. The mentors usually attend one organized group event per quarter with their mentees and often plan other events with them as well. The following organized group events are tentatively scheduled for the 2006-2007 academic school year:
- Sunday, Oct. 14 Mentor/Mentee Get-to-Know-You Lunch
- Friday, Dec. 8 Christmas dinner
- Wednesday, April 18 Take Your Mentee to Work Day
- Friday, May 11 End of year party (i.e., baseball game)
Participating in the mentor program is one way alumni choose to give back to the school, however there are many other ways to live out the Quid pro Quo spirit. Please contact Kathy Heinzerling if you would like to get involved, or stop by one of our monthly meetings.

The scholarship fund began in the spring of 1996. Julian Lopez ('87), along with a few other alumni, collected $500 that went to the first Alumni Association Scholarship. If you would like to contribute to the Alumni Scholarship, send a check at any time made out to the Chinquapin Alumni Scholarship and mail it to the school to Kathy Heinzerling's attention.
