Chinquapin Preparatory School is a private college-preparatory school for students in grades 6-12 located 20 miles east of downtown Houston. Chinquapin graduates have a remarkable record of college completion. Our school’s unique mission provides students with 7 years of high-quality education through small class size and intense preparation. For over 40 years, Chinquapin has prepared disadvantaged students from the greater Houston area for college.
This is a dream teaching opportunity: Highly motivated, talented, students who want to excel and most likely be the first in their family to graduate from college. All students are on scholarship. The school is supported by a $10 million endowment and a strong philanthropic base comprised of foundations, individuals and a supportive board of trustees. The following full-time teaching positions are now open for applications and letters of interest. Because we are small, we seek versatile educators who can lead activities and coach in addition to teaching full time.

Chinquapin Teaching Fellowship
The Chinquapin Teaching Fellowship takes people dedicated to becoming outstanding teachers and provides targeted training to help them achieve that goal. This 2 year program focuses on developing a rich understanding of instructional best practices and strong classroom management, and provides support by a mentor throughout the program.
The Fellows are responsible for 2-3 courses in first year, and 3-4 courses in their second year. Additionally, Fellows lead extracurricular activities (sports, arts, clubs), teach and mentor students, and help supervise the boarding program.
In addition to salary and health benefits, housing is provided in apartments inside students dorms, which allows the Fellows to build life-long relationships with students. Students board Monday through Friday, and meals are provided when students are present.
